Premier League Knockout - Sanford run blitz in Ormskirk win
Sunday 3rd July 2005

After yesterday's hat trick, Ormskirk's Adam Sanford showed the other side of his talents in the Premier League Knockout semi final against a weakened Fleetwood Hesketh at Brook Lane.

Ormskirk had reached 167-4 after 37.5 when Sanford joined skipper John Armstrong, who was on 47*. The two then added 102 in 6.4 overs before Sanford, who had reached his 50 from 18 balls (4x6s, 6x4s), was finally dismissed for 55 (20 balls). Ormskirk lost two more quick wickets, including Armstrong for 89, before finishing on 270-7, Travis Richardson taking 3-32.

Fleetwood Hesketh reached 81-4 before Kevin Murray (52, 67 balls, 5x4s) and Steve Rimmer (57, 44 balls, 4x4s, 1x6) added 86 but the loss of the remaining wickets for 53 runs gave Ormskirk victory with Matthew Leah taking 3-33.

Ormskirk play host to the winners of the other semi final between Bootle and New Brighton on a date to be arranged.
