Northern trio named in President's Trophy XI Wednesday 20th July 2005
With New Brighton playing Macclesfield in the Cheshire Cup quarter final, Colwyn Bay on tour, Stephen Parry (Northern) playing for Cumberland and Gareth Cross being restricted owing to Lancashire duties, plus the normal unavailability of Bootle players through cup commitments, the L&DCC XI has some new faces for its the Northern Rock League Cricket Conference President's Trophy third round tie against the Cheshire County League at Smithy Lane, Northop Hall on Sunday, stumps being pitched at 2:00 pm.
Wallasey's Phil Luxon captains the team which includes Northern opener and Lancashire Academy player, 17 year old Karl Brown who has scored 546 runs so far this season in the ECB Premier League. He is joined by fellow Academy player, Leigh's captain Steve Mullaney. Completing a Northern trio are wicket keeper James Cole (19) and Carl Hey (23).
