Letter to Huyton CC

Huyton Cricket Club Season 2007

Dear Sirs,

The Management Committee of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition regrets that representatives from Huyton Cricket Club decided not to take up the invitation of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition Management Committee to attend a meeting of the Management Committee of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition at Bootle Cricket Club on Thursday October 26th 2006 but notes the request from representatives from Huyton Cricket Club for more time to submit proposals. The Management Committee further notes the length of the time involved in correspondence with Huyton Cricket Club in recent months and that the invitation to this meeting was made some four weeks ago.

At this meeting and in the absence of the availability of any definitive input from Huyton Cricket Club, the Management Committee accepted the recommendation of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition Club and Ground Committee that, in the absence of an acceptable renovation scheme being agreed explicitly with the Management Committee of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition, Huyton Cricket Club should be relegated to the Division 1 of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition on September 30th 2007 as the Club and Ground facilities of Huyton Cricket Club fail to meet the criteria necessary for membership of the Premier Division.

I attach the relevant documentation and draw particular attention to the areas of concern.

The Management Committee of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition looks forward to urgent improvements in these areas prior to commencement of season 2007 and to receipt of any approved development proposals, inclusive of evidence of funding, which may result in completion within the 2007 year and hence the possibility of retention of Premier League status for season 2008.
