Talented rivals set for battle in Echo thriller
Friday 31st August 2007

Some of the game's best talent will be on view when Ormskirk and Northern clash on Monday night at Brook Lane (4:45pm) for a place in the Echo Knockout final.

The home side boast batsmen of the quality of John Armstrong, Matthew Glayzer, Jack Kelliher and Suwanji Madanayake, while the visitors can counter that with Carl Hey, Steve Mullaney, John Wildman and Nick Woods.

Holders Ormskirk will be keen to retain their crown, while Northern hold a Lancashire Knockout win over Adam Waterhouse's side this season, but both teams have played both positive and entertaining cricket as they battle for the Competition title.

The winners will play Merseyside and Southport Alliance top three side Skelmersdale, who produced a terrific performance to defeat Wallasey away in the other semi.

The final is scheduled for Sunday 9th September with the venue being determined by the toss of a coin.
