Registration of Category 3 (non exempt) players
Thursday 29th March 2012

Clubs must register all their Category 3 (non exempt) players even if they were registered to play in 2011.

Clubs are reminded that all Category 3 (non exempt) players are ineligible to play in the Group stage of the Ray Digman Trophy and Chester Cup competitions.

The L&DCC Player Registration rules include the following clause:

7.1.2  The registration of all Category 3 (non exempt) players shall automatically lapse on 30th September and must be renewed in full as set out in Clause 4.1.2 in all or any subsequent seasons.

To reduce the amount of administration for the league and clubs such players who played in 2011 have not yet been deregistered on Play-Cricket by the league.

Clubs must however notify the league's Player Registration Secretary before April 14th that they wish to re-register any of their Category 3 (non exempt) player(s).  If they do not do this, these players will de-registered.

Clubs will be aware that new player registrations, including those for re-registered Category 3 (non exempt) players, must be accepted on ldcc.play-cricket.com before the player is eligible to play.  Notification alone is not sufficient for re-registration as the rules require a signed registration form and appropriate UK entry visa documentation; this information can be provided after April 14th but clearly before the first match in which it is intended they will play.

Clubs will be provided with lists of their players born overseas at the pre-season SGM on April 10th and these lists will include 2011 Category 3 (non exempt) players.  However, it would be helpful if clubs would advise the league's Player Registration Secretary before the meeting if it is intended that their 2011 Category 3 (non exempt) players will not be re-registered.
