First Division - Wallasey's last pair hang on at Orrell

Only one First Division match, Alder v Sefton Park, was 'live on air' via TCS.

Wallasey's winning streak came to an end at Orrell Red Triangle where they very nearly suffered their first defeat. Orrell lost three early wickets but Richard Smith (40), Mark Friend (75) and an unbeaten 25 by no 10 Christian Edwards took them to 226 all out. Matty Hughes took 5-90 and Chris Bourne 3-59 for Wallasey. Again Mike Currey led the reply but when he was out for 55, half the side were back in the pavilion for 105. Danny Beaver (47) and Chris Bourne (40*) led a recovery but it was down to Bourne and John Murphy to bat out time for a draw. scorecard

Fleetwood Hesketh won the derby against Ainsdale at Sea Cop. Ainsdale batted for 62.4 overs with their last five wickets falling for 21 runs to leave them 122 all out. Tommy Wareing took 4-16 from fifteen overs whilst Adnan Malik had 3-43 from 23 overs. A measured reply gave Hesketh victory despite Adam Friar's 3-24. scorecard

The match at Newton le Willows brought defeat at the hands of Wigan for whom Aaron Redmond hit an unbeaten 127 from 150 balls with 14x4s and 6x6s in a total of 241-9d after 55 overs. John Humphreys took 4-50 and Dominic Chambers 3-33. Mark Shorrocks (6-22) ripped out Newton's top order to leave them 57-8 before Mark Wilkie (37) and David Evans (27) added 67 but it was too late and they were dismissed for 124. scorecard

Formby drop into the bottom two after batting 68.4 overs, 24 of them maidens, against Rainhill at Cricket Path. They were on the ropes at 85-6 and then 141-8 but a swashbuckling 57 not out from 35 balls with 10x4s and 1x6 by Mark O'Connor took them to 211-9d. Mohammad Qureshi took 6-59 from 31.4 overs. Rainhill passed Formby's total for the loss of eight wickets with O'Connor taking 4-57. scorecard

Sefton Park registered their first win of the season and move out of the danger zone whilst their opponents, Alder, are firmly entrenched at the bottom. Ather Abid hit 83 out of Alder's 191 with Chris Dye taking 4-45. Chris Bellis (64*) and Adam Irwin (64) opened Sefton's reply with 106 before Sean Vandome added 50 to get Sefton home by eight wickets. scorecard

A second wicket partnership of 104 by Ashley McDonald (59) and Hamish Dunlop (75) took Liverpool on their way to 201-8d after 61.5 overs at Northop Hall with former Hall captain, Danny Nolan, taking 4-63. Left with 38 overs, Northop Hall finished with 185-6 with Nolan hitting 60 and Dave Kennedy 50. scorecard
