Report Action 23 2014 - Chris Foran (Birkenhead Park) and Andrew Watts
Friday 31st October 2014
Two players have been suspended for a total of ten weeks following an incident in the ECB Premier League fixture between Fleetwood Hesketh and Birkenhead Park at Sea Cop on Saturday September 20th.
Hesketh's Andrew Watts and Park player Chris Foran were reported for verbally and physically abusing each other in the second innings of the match which took place on September 20th.
As a result, Birkenhead Park CC has banned Chris Foran for six weeks, commencing at midnight on the Friday immediately preceding the start of the 2015 season. The club has also given the player a further ban of four weeks suspended until the end of the 2015 season.
Fleetwood Hesketh CC did not support the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee for disciplinary action against Andrew Watts, which therefore resulted in a Disciplinary Hearing held at Liverpool CC on October 29th.
The Disciplinary Panel gave the player a four week ban commencing at midnight on the Friday immediately preceding the start of the 2015 season, with a further two weeks suspended until the end of the 2015 season. The club has decided not to appeal the decision.
