Favourite tipples during drinks intervals
Saturday 1st April 2017

Following news that the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition is being sponsored by a drinks company, it has been announced that players may consume the company's products during the various drinks intervals in matches throughout the season.

Instead of a glass of artificial orange and water, players and umpires will be able to drink glasses of hot whisky at the start of the season, to warm 'the cockles', before changing to gin and tonic with ice and sliced lemon later in the season. At Northop Hall, the lemon will be replaced with lime.

At the end of each match, an extra five points will be awarded to the team with the most sober players.

To comply with the country's licensing laws, players under the age of 18 will be restricted to drinking the company's Willow Water which itself contains medicinal properties.

During the season, clubs will be offering free drinks of your choice to everyone all day on match days to celebrate the league's new sponsorship.
