Obituary - Mark Peter Edwards
Saturday 5th August 2017
The death was announced today of former Northern Cricket Club captain and wicket keeper, Mark Peter Edwards. He was 44 years old and had been suffering with kidney cancer.
As well as playing cricket, he was a member of West Lancs Golf Club, a keen follower of Rugby Union and to cap it all, a staunch Evertonian who would take up his seat in the Gwladys Street end.
A few years ago, Mark and his family returned from Hong Kong where he had been working. Naturally, during his stay there, he became a member of Hong Kong Cricket Club.
Mark stood up to his nickname 'Legend' and always greeted people with a big smile and a hug. He will be sadly missed.
Sincerest condolences from friends and colleagues go to his wife Anna, three daughters Beth, Ally and Tori and Northern Cricket Club.
