William George Smith named in England over 70s squad for Ashes tour

Bootle's William George 'Billy' Smith (71) who  plays county cricket for Lancashire Over 60s and Cheshire Over 70s in the Seevent National 60+/70+ County Cricket Championship, has been named in the England over 70s squad for a three weeks Ashes tour of Australia in March 2018.

Beginning in Perth then moving onto Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane, all players are guaranteed a Test Match unless they are injured.

There will be five Tests and five Inter State matches.

All players/organisers are asked to help find sponsors otherwise the tour is self funding.

The travel agent in Australia is Joel McGlynn.
