Obituary - Philip Charles McKeown - UPDATED

The death has been announced last Wednesday following a long illness of former Wallasey and Huyton opening batsman, Philip Charles McKeown. He was 64 on 22nd February.

Phil played for the majority of his career at the Wirral club and is described on Wallasey's website as having been 'an aggressive, fearless and effective opening batsman'.

He ran the club's junior section single handed for many years and was a major influence on many of the current players at Wallasey CC.

Friends and colleagues extend their condolences to his wife Jan, sons Duncan, Chris and Alan and Wallasey Cricket Club.


Phil's funeral will be held at Landican Crematorium, Arrowe Park Road, Woodchurch CH49 5LW on Tuesday 24th April at 12:30pm following by a gathering to celebrate his life at Wallasey Cricket Club, Rosclare Drive, Wallasey CH45 6UX.
