ECB Premier League - Northern increase lead after third win in a row

Northern are top by seventeen points after recording their third win of the season. They reached 180 all out in 51.3 overs at Rainford, Chris Laker top scoring and Andy Davies taking 5-46. The home side were reeling at 79-7 but rallied to 148 before being dismissed with Tom Sephton taking 6-56.  scorecard

Bootle climb to second after beating champions Ormskirk, who are now seventh, by 87 runs at Moor Lane. Simon Kershaw (69) and Vishal Tripathi (45) laid a foundation for Bootle's 244-7d after 54.4 overs, Scott Lees taking 3-57. After a steady start, Ormskirk collapsed to 157 all out with Chris Liiptrot taking 6-61, the last of which was his 750th in the L&DCC in his 253rd match.  scorecard

Formby hold on to third place after winning by 92 runs at the Oval. At 31-5, defeat was looming for the visitors but Stephen Parry (50) and Ollie Sutton (51*) added 57 for the seventh wicket before going on to 158 all out after 52.4 overs with Matthew Wilcox taking 4-38 and Mathew Keogh 3-44. Parry turned destroyer after the interval in taking 4-5 to send Wallasey back to the pavilion for only 66.  scorecard

The highest winning margin was at Beech Walk, Opener Ross Zelem fell six short of a worthy century as Leigh totalled 246-5d in 52 overs against New Brighton. Slumping to 65-5, the Rakers were never in the hunt and dropped to bottom of the table ater being dismissed for 124 with Toby Bulcock taking 4-38 and Adam Shallcross 3-28.  scorecard

Highfield declared on 184-7 from 58.1 overs against Lytham at Billinge Road with Darshan Misal top scoring with an unbeaten 78, Josh Holden taking 3-30. After Lytham's fifth wicket fell at 86, they shut up shop and finished on 129-5 after 51 overs.  scorecard

Rainhill got off the mark for the season after posting 228-8d in 55 overs against Colwyn Bay at the Recreation Ground. Matthew Fletcher (57) and Tyler McGladdery (54) topped the batting with Paul Jenkins (5-81) and Ryan Holtby (3-67) leading the Bay's attack. The visitors collapsed to 91-7 before Jenkins (36) and Holtby (24*) added 35 for the last wicket to take them to 165 after 55.3 overs.  scorecard
