Richie Conlan leaves the field after scoring 170 not out against Alder in the Chrysalis Trophy
One of Richie Conlan's pastimes is being a guitarist in a rock band but this evening he used a cricket bat to take out his anger against Alder at Croxteth Drive in the second round of the 2nd XI's Chrysalis Trophy T20 competition.
Asked to bat by Alder, Sefton Park's Conlan added 174 for the first wicket with opening partner Richard Martin, who was lbw for 56.
Conlan went on to score an unbeaten 170 from 75 balls with 18x4s and 10x6s as Sefton Park totalled 240-1 from their 20 overs. His score was a record for the competition, beating Joey Snellgrove's 110 for Bootle against Old Xaverians in 2016.
A shell shocked Alder, who are propping up the Second Division, replied with 77-7 to give their opponents a winning margin of 163 runs.
