The continuing story of Northern v Bootle - the Digman final

The story so far.

Bootle and Northern were due to meet in the semi final of the Ray Digman Knockout Trophy.

The first match on Sunday July 29th was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

In the replay on Sunday August 12th, the players were taken off the field with Bootle progressing steadily at 55-1 from 15.1 overs.

Following Northern's conceding of the second replay on Sunday 9th September when there was 'foreign matter' strewn across the pitch and in the stump holes, the following situation and actions will apply.

The final, Rainford v Bootle, will take place on Sunday 16th September at the Jubilee Ground, Rainford, stumps being pitched at 12:00 noon.

Officials from Northern Cricket Club are required to attend a meeting with members of the L&DCC Management Committee, on a date currently being arranged, to explain their actions on Sunday last.

The disciplinary process has been invoked in respect of two of Northern's players, Stephen Cole and Jack Boardman.

A second disciplinary process has been invoked in respect of Bootle's captain, Craig Prince.
