Lancashire Cricket Foundation Knockout Cup - third round

It was a bad day for Liverpool Competition clubs in the Lancashire Cricket Foundation Knockout Cup.

Leigh were the first to go, defeated by Netherfield by 48 runs. Northern rallied but went down at Garstang by 19 runs whilst at Brook Lane, the match went into the last over before Darwen's last pair hit the winning runs against Ormskirk.

Eyes were then focused on Formby. Could they be the team to fly the L&DCC flag in the quarter finals?

A late stoppage for rain at Cricket Path meant the Formby players had to wait. By the old run rate rule, they were ahead (5.11 cf 5.05) of Horwich RMI's run rate but these days interrupted matches are decided by the dreaded Duckworth Lewis Stern system and that stated that Formby were behind.

playing conditions

Welsh Cup (North Wales group) - third round

Mochdre and Colwyn Bay have to try again after their match ended a victim of the weather.

Zack Gidlow reached an unbeaten 119 in the Bay's 237-4. With rain looming, Mochdre raced to 46-0 in 6 overs in an attempt to reach the 60 required from 10 overs that was needed to make a match but rain forced players into the pavilion.

The match has to be replayed on a date and at a venue to be arranged but unfortunately for Gidlow, being a cup match, his century will be erased from the records. He'll just have to hit another one in the replay.

MOCHDRE 46-0 (6) (Davies 29*, Williams 17*)
v COLWYN BAY 237-4 (40) (Gidlow 119*, Littler 39, Holtby 23*, Higginson 23)
Result: no decision - rain stopped play
Toss: Mochdre

Vitality CLUB T20 - second round

BOOTLE 127-5 (19.5 overs) (Tripathi 52, Davies 33*)
LIVERPOOL 123-8 (20) (Charlton 33, Jackson 25, Holliday 23; Tripathi 3-24)
Result: Bootle won by 5 wickets
Toss: Liverpool
