Obituary - Len Hackett
Saturday 1st February 2020

Lytham Cricket and Sports Club announces the death of Chairman Len Hackett who passed away peacefully last evening at Blackpool Victoria Hospital following a short illness. He was 81.

Len will be desperately missed by all at Lytham Cricket and Sports Club and no doubt by all cricketers and  officials whose paths he crossed during his lifetime around the North West and especially the Fylde Coast, where he helped shape the lives of many budding cricketers.

He served Lytham CC  for the past twenty years, sitting on the club's cricket committee throughout all his time at Church Road and had been Chairman for the last eight seasons.

Up until a couple of summers ago, he was also a permanent fixture umpiring both the 2nd and 3rd X1s as well as officiating many midweek junior matches .

We will all greatly miss his warmth and wise words about cricket matters and life in general."

Len's funeral will take place at Lytham Park Crematorium, Regent Avenue, Lytham St Anne's FY8 4AB, on Friday 21st February at 1:30 pm, followed by a celebration of his life at Lytham Cricket Club.

All those who knew him are very welcome to attend.

No flowers please, donations to Lytham Sports Foundation.
