Restart Knockout results - week 5

In Group A, Ainsdale suffered their first defeat. Southport and Birkdale reached 127-8 in a match reduced to 30 overs a side and then dismissed their opponents for 74 with Chris Cunningham taking 4-24.

At the Rookery, Southport Trinity were 134-9 after 45 overs but went on to lose to  Fleetwood Hesketh by 5 wickets.

Sam Oldham hit 92 not out in Formby's 186-6 but Northern passed that total for the loss of six wickets in their Group B match at Cricket Path.

A Covid-19 scare in the Bootle camp prevented them from travelling to Ormskirk.

Sutton and Hightown St Mary's won their matches in Group C by 14 runs and 20 runs respectively.

In Group D, there were wins for Rainford and Newton le Willows whilst in Group E, Wavertree were skittled for 58 after Old Xaverians had scored 138-8.

In Group F, Caldy registered their first win as Birkenhead Park could only reach 101 in reply to their 153. Caldy's bionic wicket keeper, Mark Wilkie, kept a clean sheet during Park's innings.

Highfield beat neighbours Norley Hall by 64 runs but Leigh suffered their first defeat, losing by two runs to Wigan for whom captain/wicket keeper Charles Taylor claimed six victims, four caught and two stumped.

The match at Spring View against Orrell Red Triangle was abandoned.
