Liverpool Competition player suspensions for 2010 season

NOTE:

The suspensions listed below apply to organisations affiliated to the Lancashire Cricket Board, neighbouring county boards and the England and Wales Cricket Board, unless otherwise stated.


Friday 3rd September 2010

11 JOSEPH DAVIES (Lytham)

is suspended from Friday 3rd September for 1 week for abuse of an umpire following dismissal in the fixture v Hightown on Monday 30th August 2010.

He also receives a 1 week suspended penalty until the end of the 2011 season.


Friday 20th August 2010

10 JACK BOARDMAN (Bootle)

has been suspended for 2 weeks from Friday 20th August following the use of foul and abusive language to an umpire following dismissal during the Wallasey v Bootle fixture on Sunday 15th August 2010. served

In addition, he has received a suspended sentence of 2 weeks until the end of the 2011 season.


Wednesday 11th August 2010

9 ADAM HODGKINS (Northop Hall)

has been suspended by the club for 2 weeks commencing on Friday 13th August (to Friday 27th August) following abusive etc behaviour during the fixture at Hightown on Saturday 7th August 2010. served

In addition, a further 1 week suspended sentence has been applied until the end of the 2011 season. The player has 2 ABBs which remain unaffected.


Friday 6th August  2010

8 RYAN SWIERS (Maghull)

has received a 3 week suspension - 1 suspended until the end of the 2011 season - for incidents in the match between Southport and Birkdale v Maghull on 17th July 2010.



Thursday 30th July 2010

 7 DANTON STANISLAUS (Birkenhead St Mary's)

A suspended sentence of 1 week until the end of the 2010 season following damaging the pitch at Ainsdale on Saturday 17th July 2010.


Thursday 23rd July  2010

6 ANDY BARLOW (Southport and Birkdale)

has been suspended from 6th August for 3 weeks following an assault on a player in the fixture v Maghull on 17th July served

1 week has all ready been served - 1 suspended to the end of season 2011.


Wednesday 23rd June 2010

5 PHIL CAUSEY (Ainsdale)

suspended for 1 week from Friday 25th June following abusive language and behaviour during the fixture at Burscough on Saturday 19th June 2010. served

He will also not be eligible for the Echo KO Cup match on Friday 25th June 2010 and receives a suspended sentence of 3 weeks until the end of the 2011 season.

The player has also been advised by the club that his behaviour is unacceptable and that a re-occurrence will risk a permanent ban from club membership.


Tuesday 1st June 2010

3, 4 LIAM CRILLY and GREG GILLESPIE  (Maghull)

Suspended by their club for 1 week from Friday 4th June 2010 following the use of foul and abusive language in the match at Rainford on Monday 31st May 2010. served


Saturday 29th June 2010

2 ADAM HODGKINS  (Northop Hall)

Suspended by his club for 1 match from Friday 28th May 2010 following the use of foul and abusive language in the match v Northern on Saturday 22nd May 2010. served


Wednesday 21st April 2010

1 MALCOLM SWIFT (Ainsdale)

Suspended for 1 week from Friday 23rd April 2010 following verbal abuse of an umpire on 17th April 2010 at Southport and Birkdale. In addition, the player has received a 1 week suspended sentence until the end of the 2010 season.

JAMES DAVIES (St. Helens)

Suspended for 1 week from Friday, 11th September following verbal abuse of a player on 30th August 2009 v Northop Hall. In addition, the player has received a 1 week suspended sentence until the end of the 2010 season.


Thursday 6th August 2009

MARTYN FARRELL (Ormskirk)

One week suspension from all matches commencing on Friday 7th August for dissent by action which infringed the 'Spirit of Cricket' on Sunday 2nd August in the National KO fixture -  Chester le Street v Ormskirk.

The player has also received a 1 match suspended sentence until the end of the 2010 season and been warned by the club as to his future behaviour.


Wednesday 22nd July 2009

JAMES COLE (Northern)

One weeks suspension from all matches commencing on Friday 31st July, for verbal dissent to an umpire on Saturday 11th July v Wallasey. A further 1 week suspended sentence will continue until the end of the 2010 season.

JACK WOOSEY (Northern)

Two weeks suspension from all matches commencing on Friday 17th July, for dissent by action and word to an umpire on Saturday 11th July v Wallasey. A further 2 weeks suspended sentence will continue until the end of the 2010 season.


Thursday 2nd July 2009

JAMES SPRAGUE (Highfield)

One week suspension commencing midnight on Friday 3rd July plus a 1 week suspended sentence which will continue until the end of the 2010 season following an abuse of equipment offence in the fixture on Saturday 20th June between St Helens and Highfield.


Sunday 19th July 2009

CHRISTIAN EDWARDS (Liverpool)

In the match v St Helens Recs 1st XI on Saturday 20th June 2009.

Ban imposed by Liverpool CC for dissent, 1 week was considered suitable punishment.

The 1 week suspended sentence also imposed by the club is to be carried over until the end of the 2010 season.

The Management Committee of the Liverpool & District Cricket Competition writes to Northop Hall Cricket Club after the inability of Northop Hall CC to fulfil this fixture with a notification to Bootle CC at circa 11:00 am on the day in question.

Management Committee is fully aware of the details of the time line and content of the exchanges by telephone and by email in the run up to this game and of the alleged difficulties identified by Northop Hall CC culminating in the L&DCC instruction given very explicitly to Northop Hall CC in respect of the BA KO semi final.

Northop Hall CC is reminded of the details of the commitment they then gave to Management Committee on Friday 22nd August that, in line with L&DCC Playing Regulations 6a and the instruction of the Management Committee, Northop Hall CC would fulfil their fixtures that week end at the highest level.

Management Committee is further cogniscent of the number and identity of the Northop Hall CC players present at Northern CC on Sunday 24th August at the L&DCC U16 and U21 20 Over Competition Finals Day.

The Management Committee has discussed the matter very carefully and informs Northop Hall CC that the Management Committee regards the matter as very serious.

In consequence the Management Committee imposes the following sanctions upon Northop Hall CC:

1Northop Hall CC will not be allowed to enter any L&DCC Cup competition in seasons 2009 and 2010.

2) Northop Hall CC will receive no Sponsor's/ECB monies for season 2008.
