Liverpool Competition player suspensions for 2011 season
The suspensions listed below apply to organisations affiliated to the Lancashire Cricket Board, neighbouring county boards and the England and Wales Cricket Board, unless otherwise stated.
22 Wednesday 14th September 2011
BEN EDMUNDSON (Rainhill) served
Ben Edmundson has been suspended for one week from midnight on Friday 16th September following abuse of an umpire in Rainhill's match against St Helens Recs on Monday 29th August.

DeWAYNE BOWDEN (New Brighton) served
New Brighton's DeWayne Bowden has been suspended for one week from midnight Friday 16th September following an umpire's report after the Ray Digman Trophy final at Bootle on Sunday 4th September.

NAZIM MOHAMMED (Ainsdale) served
The ABB issued to Nazim Mohammed (Ainsdale) following the Liverpool Echo Knockout final at Ormskirk last Sunday has been upgraded to a one week suspension. The suspension will be from midnight Friday 9th September until midnight Friday 16th September.

CRAIG WOODS (St Helens) served
Following the abuse of cricket equipment during the match against Fleetwood Hesketh on 13th August 2011, Craig Woods (St Helens) has been suspended for one week from midnight Friday 9th September until midnight Friday 16th September.

PHILIP CAUSEY (Ainsdale)
Following events during the 2nd XI match at Ormskirk on Monday 29th August, Ainsdale CC hassuspended Philip Causey for a period of 12 months from midnight Friday 3rd September 2011.

UTHMAN MUHAMMAD (St Helens Recs)
St Helens Recs' West Indian player, Uthman Muhammad has been suspended following an incident last Saturday in the home match against Maghull when he 'threw his helmet and bat' following his dismissal.
A suspension of one week for 'abuse of equipment' begins at midnight Friday 19th August and ends at midnight Friday 26th August. In addition he has been given a further one week suspension, suspended until the end of the 2012 season and St Helens Recs CC has warned the player of his future conduct.

RONNIE DAVIS (Bootle) served
Following a number of incidents at the ECB National Club T20 Group Finals at Newton le Willows last Sunday, 31st July and the receipt of an umpire's and two spectator reports, Bootle CC has issued a one match ban, suspended until the end of the 2012 season, to Ronnie Davis for a threatening action to an opposition player off the field of play.

ROD SALISBURY and NEIL CLARKSON (Wavertree)
Following incidents during the fixture between Southport Trinity and Wavertree on 30th July;
Rod Salisbury (captain) has received a one week suspension with effect from midnight on Friday 12th August 2011, with an additional one week suspended until the end of the 2012 season, and
Neil Clarkson has received a one week suspension with effect from midnight on Friday 5th August 2011, with an additional two weeks suspended until the end of the 2012 season.
The Wavertree club has taken the action without the necessity for a Hearing.

LEE ROBERTS (Birkenhead St Mary's)
Lee Roberts has been suspended for two weeks commencing on Friday 5th August for the issuing of a tirade of abuse to an umpire during the league fixture between Birkenhead St Mary's and Fleetwood Hesketh on Saturday 30th July.
In addition, the player has received a two week suspended sentence until the end of season 2012.
JAMES WATSON (Bootle) served
Bootle CC has suspended James Watson for his part in an incident with St Helens player, Joshua Davies, during the (Sunday) Premier Division match on the 31st July 2011.
After Davies' dismissal a comment was made to the Bootle player who reacted in an inappropriate manner. Such behaviour is not tolerated by Bootle CC and the player will be suspended from Friday 5th August 2011 until Friday 19th August 2011, ie two weekends and possibly four matches.
It is understood the St Helens club will also be taking action against their player for his part in the incident.

MATTHEW JACKSON and RYAN SWIERS (Liverpool)
Following an incident with regard to the abuse etc of an umpire in the Orrell Red Triangle v Liverpool match on Saturday 23rd July 2011, Liverpool CC has taken the following action :
1. The confirmation of an ABB penalty on both Mattie Jackson (captain) and Ryan Swiers.
2. A one match ban on both players, such ban to be suspended until the end of the 2012 season.
3. As Ryan Swiers has a one match suspended ban currently in force until the end of the 2011 season, this is now extended until the end of the 2012 season.
In addition -
4. The club has warned Ryan Swiers as to his future conduct generally.
5. Mattie Jackson has been reminded of his responsibilities as captain, of his duty to control the conduct of his team and maintain the spirit of cricket at all times, whatever the circumstances. The captain was also instructed to convey to his team a reminder of each team member's duty to uphold the spirit of cricket at all times. (In respect of Matthew Jackson, the Committee took into account his previous umblemished record, both as a player and as captain of Liverpool CC and each of the LDCC age group teams he has been invited to captain.)

MICHAEL ROTHERAM (Rainhill) served
Rainhill CC has suspended its 1st XI captain, Michael Rotheram, following 'abuse of cricket equipment' during the Liverpool Echo Knockout quarter final last Friday evening at Ainsdale when he hit the stumps after being given out 'stumped'.
The suspension begins at midnight on Friday 29th July and lasts for seven days until midnight Friday 5th August.

PAUL McKENNA (Bootle)
Following dissent to an umpire when given out stumped in the Chester Cup match between Bootle and Burscough on Sunday 12th July, Paul McKenna has been suspended by his club for one week which commenced on Friday 15th July.
The player has also been banned for a further two weeks, one suspended until the end of season 2011 and the further penalty, also suspended, until the end of next season 2012.
Bootle CC has informed the player that this behaviour will not be tolerated and any further incidents will be dealt with severely.

Following the use of foul and abusive language during the fixture between Southport Trinity and St Helens on Saturday 9th July 2011, James Davies has been suspended for one week commencing at midnight on Friday 22nd July 2011.
St Helens 1st XI does not have a fixture this weekend.

ZAHID MOHAMMED (St Helens Recs)
Following abusive behaviour towards an umpire during the match St Helens Recs v Liverpool on Saturday 18th June 2011, St Helens Recs CC has suspended Zahid Mohammed for one week commencing on Friday midnight on 8th July 2011.
A further one week ban has been suspended until the end of season 2012.
JOHN COMER, KEVIN COSTIGAN and NEIL DUTTTON (Maghull) served
As a result of the report received from Caldy CC regarding the behaviour of Maghull's John Comer in a 4th X1 fixture on 14th May 2011, a disciplinary hearing took place on Thursday 16th June 2011 and after hearing the response given by John Comer, 4th X1 Captain Kevin Costigan, player and Club Welfare Officer Neil Dutton and an independent witness, Maghull CC has taken the following action:
John Comer has been banned for 14 days from midnight on Friday 17th June 2011 until Friday 1st July 2011.
Kevin Costigan has been banned for 7 days from midnight on Friday 17th June 2011 until Friday 24th June 2011 for failing to control his player.
Neil Dutton has been banned for 7 days from midnight on 17th June 2011 until Friday 24th June 2011 for failing to act in accordance with his role as CWO.
All have been strongly warned about their future conduct and reminded of their responsibilities in this regard.

DAVID MILES (Wallasey)
In the light of his remonstrations to the umpires during and after the match against Wigan CC on Saturday 28th May 2011, Wallasey CC's Management Committee has decided unanimously that David Miles be:
(a) severely reprimanded, warned as to his future conduct on the field of play, and
(b) suspended for the period 9th June to 16th June 2011, with a further week's ban suspended, subject to his ongoing good behaviour, until the end of the 2012 season.
David Miles has expressed his sincere apologies to the Club and all concerned.
HAMISH KINGSTON (Leigh) served
As a result of the behaviour of Hamish Kingston in the fixture against Newton le Willows on 30th May and the subsequent Umpires' report, Leigh CC has taken the following action:
1. Hamish Kingston has been banned for two weeks from midnight on Friday 10th June until Friday 24th June.
2. The club has imposed an additional ban of four weeks, suspended for the remainder of the 2011 season.
3. The player has been strongly warned about his future conduct and reminded of his responsibilities in this regard.
Suspensions carried over from the 2010 season
JACK BOARDMAN (Bootle)
has been suspended for 2 weeks from Friday 20th August following the use of foul and abusive language to an umpire following dismissal during the Wallasey v Bootle fixture on Sunday 15th August 2010.served
In addition, he has received a suspended sentence of 2 weeks until the end of the 2011 season.
Wednesday 11th August 2010ADAM HODGKINS (Northop Hall)
has been suspended by the club for 2 weeks commencing on Friday 13th August (to Friday 27th August) following abusive etc behaviour during the fixture at Hightown on Saturday 7th August 2010.served
In addition, a further 1 week suspended sentence has been applied until the end of the 2011 season. The player has 2 ABBs which remain unaffected.

RYAN SWIERS (Maghull)has received a 3 week suspension - 1 suspended until the end of the 2011 season - for incidents in the match between Southport and Birkdale v Maghull on 17th July 2010.
ANDY BARLOW (Southport and Birkdale)
has been suspended from 6th August for 3 weeks following an assault on a player in the fixture v Maghull on 17th Julyserved 1 week has all ready been served - 1 suspended to the end of season 2011.
