delight at Northern's Moor Park
Sunday 10th August 2003
A few days ago, Northern were resigned to having an early start this morning so as to negotiate the holiday traffic on the A55, on their way to their third round tie of the Littlewoods Gaming Knockout Trophy at Colwyn Bay.
Then it all changed, for it was discovered that the Bay had fielded an unregistered player in the previous round at Haydock. Haydock were immediately reinstated and paired with Northern but, with their own Lyme Park ground being unavailable, today's match will be at Northern's picturesque, tree lined Moor Park.
It has been confirmed that Sherwin Campbell (Northern) and Jimmy Adams (Haydock) will be free of any Lashings commitments and be available to play.
On what is forecast to be another scorching day, these two master craftsmen, it is hoped, will demonstrate the true delight of Caribbean cricket.
The stumps are pitched at 1:30 pm with the umpires being Fred Charters and Gordon Prescott. Admission is free.
third round: Sefton Park v Wallasey
semi final: Bootle v Leigh
