Obituary - Christopher Hoy
Monday 1st November 2004

Wigan Cricket Club has lost one of its bright, young stars with the news that Christopher Hoy has died in hospital. He would have been 19 years old today.

His death came two weeks after the car he was driving crashed into the railings of a house and catapulted him into a parked car. Two 14 year old girls from Wigan, who were passengers in the vehicle, are still recovering from injuries they suffered in the crash.

Christopher was driving a silver Peugeot 106 in Westhoughton on the evening of Thursday 14th October when the vehicle collided with the railings of a house and then careered into a parked Ford Escort.

He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital with severe head and pelvic injuries and was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Walton Hospital, Liverpool. He died there from his injuries late on Friday night.

The LDCC wishes to offer its condolences to Chris's family and to Wigan Cricket Club.
