Liverpool Echo Invitation Cricket Knockout Trophy Draw
Saturday 1st March 2008

The draw for 2008's competition was released yesterday.

There were only 35 teams in the draw following five not being included after conceding matches last year. Ainsdale return to the draw. The teams are broken down as 22 from the Liverpool Competition, 8 from the Alliance, 4 the Cheshire County League and 1 from the Chester League.

Three first round matches see Newton le Willows go to Rainhill, Ainsdale play Skelmersdale and Wigan take on Alliance side Alder. Matches to be played on 15th or 16th May.

When the second round draw was being made there were still 10 teams left in the bag and the holders Ormskirk and past winners Bootle still to emerge.

Ormskirk were then drawn at home to New Brighton but Brook Lane captain Adam Waterhouse is confident home advantage will see his team through.

Fleetwood Hesketh have a home tie against Neston and Bootle were finally last out, and go to either Ainsdale or Skelmersdale. Matches to be played on either 5th or 6th June.
