Business Assistance (NW) Knockout Trophy, Chester Cup and league matches for 2010
Wednesday 14th October 2009

At last night's end of season meeting, it was decided that the format for the Bridging Finance (NW) Knockout Trophy will change for 2010, with the Chester Cup changing accordingly and reverting to being a 'mirror' of the 1st XI.

The new format will begin with 9 groups of 4 teams playing to qualify for quarter finals, semi finals and the final. There will be a play off on Sunday July 11th for a quarter final place between two teams to be determined before the main draw.

The group matches will take place on Saturdays April 17th, 24th and May 1st.

The 36 teams will be placed end to end in the positions they finished in 2009 and then split into 9s before being drawn across the four groups.

The quarter finals will be played on Sunday July 25th, the semi finals on Sunday August 8th with the Bridging Finance (NW) Knockout Trophy final being on Sunday September 12th, the Chester Cup final being on the previous Sunday September 5th.

Category 3 (overseas) players will not be eligible.

For more information on the knockouts, watch this space.

The 22 league matches will run from Saturday May 8th to Saturday September 18th, taking in Bank Holidays on May 31st and August 30th.

Now that these dates have been finalised, your duly elected Fixtures and Results Secretary has been asked by the LDCC Chairman to create the fixtures for 2010 but beware of external forces.
