Theft of ground equipment
Wednesday 14th September 2011

Dalton Cricket Club, near Parbold, has reported the theft of the following items from a locked container situated at their ground:-

1 - Atco mower
1 - Mountfield mower
1 - McCulloch petrol strimmer
1 - Sisis scarifier
1 - Jerry can (olive green) full of petrol

The items were stolen overnight Tuesday 13th/Wednesday 14th.

The thieves, thought to be travellers, broke the security light and cut through padlocks securing the container. As direct access to the club was locked, the equipment was taken across the cricket ground and loaded into a waiting van in an adjacent cornfield. The thieves even closed the container door to make things look normal.

If anyone has any information or is offered any of the items for sale, could they please contact Skelmersdale Police Station on 01695 724101 or David Halsey, the Dalton Cricket Club Secretary, on 01744 752252.

Make sure your equipment is stored safely and report to the police any strangers at your ground that are acting suspiciously.
