Sunday 23rd December 2012
Fleetwood Hesketh player Scott Rimmer, 19, faces a lengthy rehabilitation after suffering serious injuries in Australia.
One of several Liverpool Competition players with clubs in the Melbourne area, he suffered multiple fractures to his hip and pelvis and injured two vertebrae after being hit by a falling girder at a building site.
Following a six hour operation on Thursday last, Scott will be moved from St Alfred's Hospital in Melbourne to the Glen Waverley Rehabilitation Centre for a long arduous process to recovery. His parents and brother Lee have flown out to be with him.
Sir Ian Botham, Alec Stewart and our own Simon Kerrigan have sent Tweets of good will in support.
Fleetwood Hesketh CC is already seeking ways in which they can help Scott and his family with a number of fund raising efforts planned.
