First Division - The Bay claim Sefton's scalp on march to promotion

Colwyn Bay's lead is now forty-eight points after beating Sefton Park by 26 runs with three balls to spare at Croxteth Drive. The start of the match was delayed by an hour owing to morning rain. Colwyn Bay won the toss and batted. They lost captain Sion Morris for 7 but with Adam Campion hitting 58 and George Johansen, 46, the Bay declared at 191-8 after 45.1 overs. Sefton Park slumped to 107-7 before being all out for 165 with Samad Fallah taking 4-58 and Paul Jenkins, 4-64.  scorecard

Second placed Maghull went to Smithy Lane and posted 197-9 after Joel Brockley (75) and Adam Smith (25) had opened with a partnership of 102. Aamar Mahmood was Northop Hall's best bowler with 6-80 from 22 overs. In reply, Hall lost Danny Nolan for 5 but steady batting took them to 199-4 with Gareth Williams hitting an unbeaten 70.  scorecard

Fleetwood Hesketh jump up to third place after beating Ainsdale by four wickets at Liverpool Road. Mark Lucas (56) and brother Sam (44) added 77 for Ainsdale's fifth wicket in an otherwise disappointing batting performance as they were dismissed for 143 after 44.3 overs with Tommy Wareing taking 5-43 and Aaron Halsall, 3-19. Hesketh had their problems, collapsing to 76-6, but Dean Skelton (42*) and Wareing (28*) saw them home after 32.2 overs.  scorecard

Wigan drop to fourth after losing to St Helens Town at Bull Hey. John Richardson hit 70 before Jake Leyland (40*) and Aaron Redmond (68*) added 84 to take Wigan to 204-2d after 35.4 overs. In reply, Town slid to 139-7 (Reggie Grey 67) but Joe Payne (11*) and Jimmy Davies (55*) shared an unbroken partnership of 68 to see them home by three wickets with three balls remaining.  scorecard

Liverpool stay in the bottom two after gaining just two points from their trip to Prestatyn. They were dismissed for 121 after 47 overs with Sampath Perera taking 4-21. Danny Davies hit an unbeaten 50 as Prestatyn coasted home by seven wickets in thirty overs.  scorecard

Newton le Willows remain in bottom place after losing to Rainford at Crow Lane East. They reached 151-4 but, with John Dotters taking 6-50, they collapsed to 185 all out with the last three wickets falling at the same total. Rainford replied with 188-5, Dotters top scoring with 39.  scorecard
