Notice about knockout
Tuesday 14th June 2016
Clubs had better be aware of the latest diatribe issued by the Management Committee on the greentop.
It reads as follows:-
Further to the bulletin posted last Saturday the Cricket Committee has made the following ultimatum to clubs.
In all knockout competitions there are fixtures unplayed beyond the reserve date. This cannot be allowed to continue.
Where clubs have agreed dates with the L&DCC officials these will be allowed to stand. However, where no date has been agreed and the reserve date has passed the Committee reserves the right to decide matches by coin toss.
Three matches in the 2nd XI t20 (Chrysalis Trophy) were decided in this way last night:
Birkenhead Park v Wavertree - Wavertree won
Sefton Park v Bootle - Sefton Park won
Wallasey v Liverpool - Wallasey won *
The situation regarding the other cup competitions is as follows:
Ray Digman Trophy - draw is on this website for 4th round - matches to be played by 10th July. All remaining round 3 matches to be played by 19th June or by reduced overs evening matches by 24th June.
Chester Cup - draw is on this website for 4th round - matches to be played by 3rd July. All remaining round 3 matches to be played by 19th June or by reduced overs evening matches by 24th June.
Note that the draws published in the Handbook for these two competitions are incorrect regarding the play-by dates for future rounds, the dates are given on the draws which are available on this website.
Mike Leddy Cup - three matches in Round 2 are still to be played and must be completed by Sunday 19th June or as reduced overs matches by Friday 24th June.
ECB NatWest t20 - three quarter finals are to be played no later than Friday 1st July.
Chrysalis Trophy t20 - four quarter finals are to be played no later than Friday 1st July
Embee Trophy - four Round 2 matches are still to be played and must be completed by Friday this week or the Committee will decide by coin toss. Round 3 is due to be played by June 26th, ie next week but with an extra week as a reserve so no later than 3rd July.
All home teams are reminded that failure to submit a Match Result Form for cup matches will be fined £5. The result of one match has already been questioned and the lack of a MRF signed by both captains and umpires has not helped in coming to a decision.
* another cause, the second in as many days, for a ruffled titter in the auditorium as this match has been played and Liverpool won.
A notice to the Management Committee, if team A plays team B and Team A wins, it is Team A that proceeds to the next round, not Team B.
If the deadline for the second round of the 2nd XI T20 was May 29th, as indicated on ldcc.play-cricket.com, why are Caldy and New Brighton being allowed to play on Thursday June 14th? Once again the Management Committee's consistent inconsistency and favouritism is highlighted.
